Alecia Taylor | Music Therapy Assistant

Alecia seeks to cultivate an atmosphere free from assumption, judgment, and oppression, in order to develop trusted relationships in which people can be their authentic selves. She believes in a holistic, person-centered approach to music therapy. We are people first and must be respected on the basis of our humanity!

Alecia enters sessions with the knowledge that music is an inherent part of our lives, whether through cultural traditions, personal preferences, or social habits. Through musical experiences, she strives to gain an understanding of the entirety of one’s identity that extends beyond their diagnosis.

An accomplished vocalist and performer, Alecia earned her Bachelor of Music Therapy from Berklee College of Music. She has worked in mental health communities with adolescents and older adults, neurologic music therapy settings, settings with young children, and has collaborated with instructors for individualized education plans for elementary and middle school students with developmental disabilities. Alecia enjoys performing, watching movies, spending time with loved ones, and journaling.
